It's a good day for women everywhere!
Just in time for International Women's Day tomorrow, Lancôme announced that it's bringing back its original muse, actress/filmmaker/exceptional woman Isabella Rossellini, to "spread the brand's particular vision of femininity to the four corners of the earth." Rossellini, who became the very first face of Lancôme back in 1983, has continually reinvented herself through her acting career and, at 63, is the epitome of an accomplished woman.
Regram from @lisaeldridgemakeup: "Isabellas back in the Lancome family!!! Thrilled and proud to be part of this monumental moment. We met last summer and I've been in love with this wonderful woman since - she's so full of life, intelligence, beauty and integrity. Looking forward to adventures together 👯#IsabellaforLancome@lancomeofficial #isabellarossellini#muse #lisaforlancome#lisaeldridge#Lancome #proudofeachother Thank you @alexilubomirskiphoto for the great photo 😘"
Just last year, Rossellini actually spoke about the lack of beauty endorsement opportunities for women over 45. "I don't know why there is this attention on youth," she said during a Q&A session at the 68th Cannes Film Festival. "I don't look at myself in the mirror and say, 'I wish I was 20 years old.'"
We are delighted to announce a new collaboration with an inspired and inspiring woman, Isabella Rossellini. She was our very first Face and one of the most beautiful embodiments of the Lancôme femininity. Welcome back to our Muse! #Lancome #IsabellaRossellini #Muse Illustration by Marc-Antoine Coulon
As for returning to Lancôme where it all began, Rossellini couldn't be more thrilled. "I am overwhelmed with emotion to come back to Lancôme," she said in a statement. "Our collaboration meant so much to me in my life. Continuing it fills me with immense joy and great expectations." We second that and can't wait to see what they have in store!
